The Company is committed to:
- Ensure the Company approach to equality is reflected in both policy and practice
- Ensuring that company employees are aware of good practice when providing services or working with disabled people and have a clear understanding or their duties and responsibilities
- Taking forward our Disability Equalities Scheme which looks at all the functions of our organization and plans to remove barriers to all who deliver and use our services
- Establishing recruitment practices that encourage applications from and employment of disabled people and people from BME groups
- Ensuring that terms and conditions of employment do not disadvantage people with disabilities
- Talking to service users about any barriers they may experience in the service and taking action to remove them through the Service User Exit and Service Review Policies
- Ensure that the working environment does not prevent disabled people from taking up positions for which they are qualified by providing appropriate facilities, support and training to employees who have impairments, or who develop impairments while working for the Company.
- Adopting a homeworking policy for the majority of employees.
- Taking positive steps to ensure that all employees have fair access to promotion.
- Consulting all employees on the development of company services and practices and ensuring that disabled people are not disadvantaged in that consultation processes.
- Make reasonable adjustments for disabled employees or impaired employees, where appropriate
